WHO WE ARE

The Rationalist Society of Australia is the oldest freethought group in Australia, promoting reason since 1906. Members and supporters hold that all significant beliefs and actions should be based on reason and evidence, that the natural world is the only world there is, and that answers to the key questions of human existence are to be found only in that natural world.

ABOUT THE MAGAZINE

“The Rationalist Society of Australia has published a magazine almost continuously since the 1920s, interrupted only by war, internecine strife and lack of funds. The ideas and opinions published on these pages do not necessarily represent the views of the RSA, its board or the editor. Rather, we aim to publish material that furthers the RSA’s mission to inform, to educate and generally to promote thoughtful and dispassionate analysis of issues of public contention. We publish regular articles on Philosophy, Ethics & Religion, Science & Technology, Law & Politics. We will also consider humour, poetry, short fiction and cartoons. Articles should be submitted in final draft form in a recent version of MS Word. We retain the right to edit or abridge submitted material. The preferred length of articles is between 500 and 2500 words, but longer articles may be considered.”
